AWS Cloud Expert Will Lead Product Vision and Innovation
BEND, OR – October 2, 2024 – Platformr has just appointed George Rolston to its leadership team as VP of Product to lead the company’s product vision and advance its AWS CloudOps solutions.
As an AWS multi-account strategy thought leader and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) specialist, George brings critical insight into the unique challenges AWS customers face when migrating and modernizing with AWS. His 18+ year IT and cloud career includes in-depth knowledge of AWS public cloud and on-premises private cloud environments working with automation, IaC, and building AWS landing zones/platforms for customers ranging from enterprise to startups.
George has been a key figure in advancing cloud infrastructure automation at AWS, both as an AWS platform specialist and hands-on leader. In 2022, working with the AWS CloudFormation team, he open-sourced the AWS Guard Rules registry, making a significant contribution to IaC security and support of the shift-left practice.
Over the past three years, George has also developed and led multi-account workshops at re:Invent, AWS re:Inforce, and the AWS DC Summit, helping organizations scale their cloud adoption with AWS best practices. Most recently George has been a thought-leader authoring updates on one of AWS’s top whitepapers, Organizing Your AWS Environment Using Multiple Accounts. The best practices he developed have contributed to major programs and initiatives across AWS.
Prior to Platformr, George was an AWS Senior Solutions Architect Specialist leading the AWS multi-account strategy, Cloud Foundations on AWS, and landing zones, as well as guiding key customers to success on their AWS journey.
